After the talk today i asked myself if the artist is a modern day shamen?

  Yes, I think the artist must be a modern day shamen since we are offering advice and ideas through our work and possibly healing others but essentially healing ourselves.

Perhaps we as artists, need to get back to our own creativity and our own problem solving instead of giving so much to the yogi, prayer, shamen and therapists of the world. The NY times article this weekend about Elizabeth Gilbert and where she is now, (Love, Travel, Sell)  and well as the movie and articles about Eat Pray Love began me thinking of these general ideas and I linked them to Bert’s art talk today.
